Tower of Pisa, 3D Model, Pisa, Italy

The Tower of Pisa is the bell tower of the Cathedral. Its construction began in the august of 1173 and continued for about two hundred years, in full fidelity to the original project, whose architect is still uncertain. In the past it was widely believed that the inclination of the Tower was part of the project ever since its beginning, but now we know that it is not so. The Tower was designed to be "vertical", and started to incline during its construction. La Torre di Pisa

I was in Italy last week as I have bought a Calabria property and I thought while I was there I would travel around a little I saw the tower and in reality it is quite astounding, I still cannot believe it stands up, it certainly looks as if it was not built like that but I still can not see why it has not fallen over.

It is amazing that it has stood for this long, if it was the bell tower why was it not connected to the main building like most others, is it just a bell tower or was it decorated and furnished, why has not fell over yet, so many questions, I am waiting for my conservatory furniture to be delivered and when I am waiting I often surf around looking for answers to questions that I never usually get round to, thanks.
